June Favorites

The around 40 degree hot weather makes me not wear makeup at all or it will be washed away after jumping into the pool. And i didn't purchased any new beauty bibs or bobs so there is nothing new to tell in that department. If you're interested in my current favorite makeup products check out my Mai or April Favorites.

//VICTORIA'S SECRET BODY MIST "SUCH A FLIRT"
I don't like to use perfume in the warmer months, so i'm all for Body mists and sprays. First of all you smell so fricking good and it refreshes your skin so nicely. I like to use it in my hair too, although i know it's not the best for your hair because of the alcohol in it. Once somebody told me that I and especially my hair smelled so good. Afterwards i was thinking about what i put on and it was this Body Mist from Victoria's secret. It smells sweet and fruity but not too heavy.

//NEUTROGENA VISIBLY CLEAR PINK GRAPFRUIT DAILY FACEWASH
 I don't like the "dirty" sweaty feeling of my face in the morning, so i want something that cleans and refreshes my skin and makes it feel fresh. The facewash from Neutrogena does exactly that and my skin doesn't feel thight or dry afterwards. Another plus is that it helps against pimpels and blackheads so thumbs up for that.

//CLINIQUE REPAIRWEAR SCULPTING NIGHT CREAM
 I got this as a gift with my purchase and at first i didn't liked it at all. It feels too heavy on the skin and the thing that really really put me off was the smell. It just smells like glue. Ugh. At some point i used it on my dehydration lines and it was like a miracle. They were gone. Like immediatly. Still hate the smell though.

//ESSIE NAILPOLISH "LOLLIPOP" & "TART DECO"
Lollipop is more summery red. It has a orange hint to it and i love the shade. Tart Deco is a peach coral with a lot of white in it, so it makes your tan look intense. The two shades i'm wearing all the time. And i found out the perfect way for me to wear essie nailpolishes. Two coats and that's it. No Basecoat, no Topcoat and it lasts 3-4 days. Awesome for summer laziness.

Mai Favorites

 I don't even know how in the world i was able to balance those products between my fingers, while holding (the quite heavy) camera in the other trying to take a good picture and not dropping the products into the pool. I am so glad i didn't, because i had no intentions on diving into the pool to get the products out. The weather is hot and the amount of makeup on my face is low. Eyemakeup is only happening on special events in the evening.

//REVLON NEARLY NAKED FOUNDATION
As you may have already read in the review i did for this foundation. I love it for the hot summer days. It is light on the skin and in coverage, gives a dewy finish and in my eyes just the perfect summer foundation.

//MAYBELLINE MASTER CONCEAL
I just saw that i already mentioned this concealer in last month's favorites. Oops. It is still my favorite concealer at the moment, although i need more coverage for my immense dark circles. For blemishes and less blue dark circles this is the perfect product. Nice coverage, longwearing and nearly no creasing under the eyes.

//ELF MAKEUP MIST&SETTING
I'm all for the flawless skin finish lately and nearly hit my nose on the mirror while looking for dry patches, cakey foundation or pores. The face mist/ setting spray is supposed to make things look more flawless and skinlike. And it seems that it does. For a drugstore version definitely worth a try. Also really nice for refreshing your face and reviving your makeup.

//REVLON CREAMBLUSH "300 CORAL REEF"
My full on rave about creamblushes here, but this one in particular is a beaut. The colour in the tin is quite terrifying but the finish on my cheeks is so nice. Fresh and it looks so natural like i just had a slight jog around the house. Love it.

//RIMMEL EXAGGERATE LIPLINE " EAST END SNOB"
My recent go to lipproduct for going out or evenings, where i know that there won't be much time for makeup touchups. It lasts on your lips for ages. The colour is a mauve-pink colour and looks very pretty on the lips. Matte finish, which is perfect for long evenings/nights and eating/drinking in between.

April Favorites

It is getting really warm (25-30 degrees) here and i got quite the tan already. Beauty wise there isn't much i use at the moment, because i'm either too lazy or i'm using the products i already mentioned. I haven't bought beauty products for the last two or three months. Holy...that's quite a time. And yes i do feel the urge to run into a drugstore at the moment.

//GARNIER MIRACLE SKIN PERFECTOR
This one again. I have the feeling my favorites keep repeating themselves. I have the phase again, where i rather lay the ten minutes longer in bed than bothering with my makeup. Just slap it on to correct any uneven skincolour add some concealer and mascara done. Boring i know.

//REVLON COLORBURST MATTE BALM "SULTRY"
I had this for half a year now and never used it before. Yep, i have to much makeup stuff i know. So one day i saw it and used it and now i love it. When everyone is going for a bright lipstick or glossy formulas i am going for the dark colours and matte formulas...I am just weird. I just love the look of it and it doesn't fade awkwardly or anything and with a bit of gloss in the center of the lips it gives the lips a really nice look.

//MAYBELLINE MASTER CONCEALER
Now since i've got a bit of a tan on my face i can use this concealer without it looking weird. I was searching for a concealer with high coverage, because my holy grail concealer i normally use is more or less empty and i can only get it in germany.  It has a high coverage, isn't drying under the eyes. And it holds a good amount of time and doesn't crease. On top i like to use a bit of the maybelline instant age eraser.

//DOVE OXYGEN MOISTURE SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER
I used up all my other shampoos and conditioners (there will be a empties post soon) and finally allowed myself to buy new ones. The Oxygen Moisture series from Dove is supposed to moisturise your hair without weighing it down and makes it so more voluminous. My hair is fine and straight and tends to lay really flat on my head throughout the day. The oxygen moisture shampoo cleanses my scalp and hair good without being harsh and the conditioner moisturises my ends nicely without weighing them down. If your ends are really dry, you should use a hairoil or hairmask afterwards, because the conditioner doesn't nourishes your hair a lot.

What were your favorites this month?

March Favorites

How long have i waited for March to come along? Because for me it was like the break between winter and spring and now it's over again. Insane. March was really springy here in Canada, but instead of going fully springish with my makeup I was going more for the natural glowy look.

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation & The Body Shop  Radiant Highlighter
The combination of those two products mixed together was the look i was going for, if i decided to use foundation. When you mix the Body Shop Highlighter with your foundation instead of applying it under it, you end up with a glowy illuminated skin. I probably need a new tube of the highlighter soon.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Concealer & Real Techniques Complexion Sponge
March is the month of combinations (:D). The second favorite combination is the Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer everybody is loving at the moment blended in with the Complexion Sponge from RT. I apply the concealer in a triangle shape under my eyes and blend it in with the damp RT sponge and the result is just flawless.

Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream
Last face product for this month favorites, i promise. I had this for quite a long time and loved it way back, but then it got lost in my stash. Now i rediscovered it when were going towards summer for a more light formula as a base. This is the product i use, when i am not using foundation. A decent amount of coverage, moisturizes your skin quite well and feels nice and light on the skin.

Mac Blush "Blushbaby" (here)
I mentioned this in a favorites post before (January i guess...), but it had a revival this month. I don't want to use a shimmery blush with my foundation-highlighter-combination, so this one is the blush i am reaching for the most. It doesn't look like much in the pan, but on your cheeks it makes you look healthy and fresh without too much bright colour on your face.

Milani lipstick "25 Naturally Chic"
My go to lipstick at the moment, because it's a your lips but better kinda shade. A nude tone with a rosy touch. The liptsick has a creamy formula, which can be a bit drying if your lips aren't moisturized enough. One thing that really puts me off though is the smell, it's a very sweet candy scent and i just hate it.

Clinique dramatically different moisturizing lotion + (here)
 The last item to mention is this moisturizer you might have already seen in my AM Skincare Routine. This clinique moisturizer is the one i grab in the mornings. For the declaration as a lotion it's quite a thick consistency, but i moisturizes my skin throughout the day very good. I also like to use it under foundation with the Body Shop Vitamin E Serum underneath. Soon it's time to buy the big version of it (i only have a travle size at the moment).

February Favorites

It's favorites time again. The last few month i find it hard to pick products as my favorites, because i don't want to show you the same products over and over again so the amount of products seem to minimize each month...

Essie "Lollipop"
I thought Canada was a country with long cold snowy and icy winters and not spring temperatures in february. It seems i thought wrong. It was quite sunny and springy in february so i started getting out my spring nailpolishes and lipsticks. This one is a bright red colour with a orange touch. It's not orange but it's not the regular red either. It will probably become a staple in upcoming spring and summer.

Vaseline "hydratant spray&go moisturizer"
As i already mentioned in my Favorite bodycare products post i am a lazy bum when it comes to moisturising my body. So this little friend here helps with that. Spray the moisturiser over your body, pat it in and you're good to go.

Swissco Almond infused Paddle Brush
You only learn how much you love something when you don't have it anymore. When i was packing my suitcase i thought i wouldn't need my paddle brush. As always i was wrong and i started to miss the brush after three month without it. I found this brush at Winners and was curious if the almond oil infused part would really make a difference. And it does. My hair is smoother and doesn't fly around like i just rubbed a ballon over it.

Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm - here
I already raved about this in my Cleanser post and in my PM skincare routine so i don't really can say anything new about it. I use it for cleansing my face after i removed my makeup. It leaves my skin feeling so soft and not squeaky clean. I just love it.

L'oreal colour riche "176 sunset angora"
I'm more a coral kinda gal than a pink lover.  So since the weather is making me want spring to come even more i am dusting off my coral lipsticks, blushes and nailpolishes. Current love is this one. Gorgeous packaging by the way. Creamy but still quite cheer and not drying on the lips.

Catrice multi colour blush "060 strawberry frappuccino" (germany)
A german product i was strolling around for ages. It's a blush with four colours in it, going from mauvy pink, pink, rose over to pale rose. I like to put my brush in the upper half or just swirl it around in the pan. It creates a pinky and subtle pop of colour on my cheeks.

MacBook Pro - here
Just two days gone by since i spend a hell lot of money on this little baby i am having on my lap right now. I always wanted a Mac but it was always the dream that you know will probably never come true. Then my (now old) laptop got a crac in the screen (don't ask me how) and there was a big fat white line right in the middle of the screen so it was more or less impossible to do anything with it properly. After a lot of touching, staring, arguing with myself and dropping a lot of questions on people working in the store i decided to buy the MacBook Pro (the older a little bit chunkier version without the retina display) and so far i looove it. It is different, because all my life i had computers with windows on them and now everything is different, but in a good way.

2.2.15

January Favorites

It's time for the monthly favorites post again. January has gone by and winter is hopefully on it's way out too. I am nearly three month in Canada now and it is only getting better. I had a little problem with putting together my January favorites because either i am not using that much makeup or i'm using the things i already showed you in the last favorites post. That's the reason why this month i don't have that many products to show you.

BLUSHBABY - MAC (here)
My first MAC Blush is still a favorite of mine. It is a simple one in a mauvy pink color without any shimmer, but it makes my face seem more alive and fresh. The color is a natural blush shade so it looks like you are blushing naturally. The quality of MAC blushes is hands down amazing and this one is no exception. If you want to buy a blush from MAC and are not sure which one to buy, you won't go wrong with this one. It looks good only a lot of skin tones and is a simple but gorgeous blush.

SUPERSIZE VOLUME DELIGHT MASCARA - MANHATTEN
Another mascara in my favorites it seems to become a staple in these posts. I brought this mascara along with me from Germany and i just wanted to use it up. After i used it several times i rediscovered my love for it, but it's not the right mascara for crazy volume or length. It seperates my lashes and leaves them looking natural voluminous (if that makes sense). The application is very easy and you don't have to keep attention that you end up with three clumps of lashes. This is one for the put-on-and-out-the-door application.

AFTER SCHOOL BOY BLAZER - ESSIE
I was so happy to find this nailpolish because it was part of a limited edition in Germany, but i wasn't able to pick it up at that time. Afterwards i was desperatly searching for a similair color, but never found one. Until i recently stumbled across the nailpolish in the drugstore, being part of a new limited edition. I love essie nailpolishes (as you already could read about here) and the color is especially beautiful. It's a dark nearly black blue, with no glitter, no shimmer, just a plain dark blue.

VITAMIN-E MOISTURE SERUM - THE BODY SHOP (here)
You might have seen this product in my recent haul, but at first i wasn't sure about this product. After using it for the first time i didn't know if the effect was due to this product or to the new moisturizer i used. So i tested it alone and with my "old" moisturizer, now i am convinced. You can apply it on it's own, but there is no big difference in terms of moisture. If you use it under your daily or evening moisturizer it helps getting and locking the moisture into your skin and it leaves your skin feel so soft.

MOISTURGE SURGE - CLINIQUE (here)
Another product from my Haul is this moisturizer i picked up, because i had problems with lack of moisture. It has a more gel like texture and doesn't really feel like a cream. It sinks into your skin really quickly and little goes a long way with this. You don't need much (just dip your finger in once or twice) to have a great outcome. The lines on my forehead are completely gone and it makes my skin look so much plumper than before.

MAXCLEAN TOOTHPASTE - COLGATE
It may seems strange to include a toothpaste in my favorites post, but this one deserves it. I am always using whithening toothpastes, but one never made a huge difference since i used this one. I don't know if it's due to the ingredients and they're not allowed to put so much Fluoride in there in germany, but this one works while the german ones don't.

FILOFAX ORIGINAL - FILOFAX (here or here)
Maybe you saw this little friend used as a prop in my Top 5 Instagrammers post and it is not only good for this. I always wanted to have a filofax since i watched this video from xkarenina. My mom gave this one to me as a christmas gift and i love it ever since. It is a planner in which you can put different insert (depending on what you need or want to use) and what i like to do is personalize it with sticky notes, washi tape, quotes, printables etc.. If you want to see my setup and how i use my planner let me know in the comments.

December Favorites

Here we are again and it is time for my December Favorites. This time i only have Makeup Favorites, because my Lifestyle/Song Favorite stayed nearly the same over the month. At first i wanted to do a Haul Post, but when i was taking the photos for this post, i realized that nearly all of the products i bought are feautured in this post. So i decided to skip the Haul post, because i don't want to mention the same products twice.

RIMMEL WAKE ME UP FOUNDATION
I wanted to try this foundation for a long time, but i Germany it is hard to get your hands on this. So i bought the foundation the first time i shopped at a candian drugstore. I am all on for the glowy dewy foundations. This foundation does excactly this. I leaves you with a nice dewy glowy finish, which doesn't look sweaty. The shade i have is a little bit too dark for me, but with a lot of blending you aren't able to tell. It has a medium coverage and looks natural on the skin. Some people don't like this foundation, because it has little little glitter particels in it. I don't see it as a problem, because it has a very nice effect.

TBS RADIANT HIGHLIGHTER
This one is again a recommendation from essiebutton. You can use the highlighter under your foundation as an all over face illuminator/primer or you can use it as a liquid highlighter only on your cheekbones. I like both methods and it has a nice rosy glowy effect, which doesn't look too much.

E.L.F. STUDIO HIGH DEFINITION POWDER
In Germany it's not easy to get your hands on the e.l.f. products. We have an online shop, but there is just a little amount of products. So i took the chance to buy e.l.f. in Canada. This powder is a transulent loose powder. It looks really nice on the skin, sets everything without making it look cakey. I like to use it for setting concealer or put it just all over my face. One odd thing about it is, that it is hard to not splurge the powder everywhere, because it is so fine.

REAL TECHNIQUES DUO FIBER COLLECTION
Real Techniques Brushes are soo damn good. I love them all. There are all different type of brushes and i have this kit and the blush brush. I think the Core Collection will be the next addition to my collection. The brushes are really good quality, the hairs are so soft and they don't loose any hairs. This Collection includes a big powder brush, a small eye blender brush (this will be mentioned later on again) and a small contour brush, i like to use this for setting my concealer, too.

MAYBELLINE COLOUR TATTOO / "BAD TO THE BRONZE"
Yes, i know i am late on raving about the maybelline colour tattoos, but better late then never. I love all type of bronzy eyeshadow shades and this is a dark bronzy shade with silver glitter. I like to pop this all over my lid and blend it with the blender brush from the Real Techniwues Collection i mentioned above. A lot of mascara a bit of concealer and blush and you are ready to go.

NYX BUTTERGLOSS / "ECLAIR"
This gloss is honestly my very first product from NYX. Unbelievable right? Yes, i know. But there are more to come, because this gloss is so nice. It is not too tacky so that my hair gets stuck on my lips all the time and it also smells really nice. I think next time, when i go to the drugstore i have to pick up more shades.

RIMMEL EXAGGERATE LIPLINER / "EAST END SNOB"
This time it is a recommendation from Amelia. She said, this is a dupe to the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in "Pillow Talk" (which is on my wishlist). And i really like it. It is a Your-Lips-but-better-kinda-shade and makes your lips look smoother, fuller and just gorgeous. You can put some lipgloss on top of it, leave it as it is or use it as a lipliner for a bold lip for example.

L'OREAL MISS MANGA MASCARA
The next product i bought after the hype is gone. This mascara has a bendable wand and a wand that gets smaller at the end. I like the effect of the mascara, because it lenghtens and volumizes my lashes. One thing i don't like is that it tends to stick my lashes together, but when you are careful or let the mascara dry out a little (that sounds kinda wrong) it shouldn't be that big problem.

TBS CAMOMILE CLEANSING OIL
I am using the Maybelline Micelle Water for ages now and never used something different, that i liked until now. I picked this cleansing oil up at the Body Shop a few weeks ago and use it since then every evening. I use two pumps, apply it on my skin, then splash a bit of warm water in my face and remove the oil and the makeup with a towel. It removes the heaviest eye makeup without rubbing and if you gently rub it over your lashes your mascara disappears, too. Last but not least it leaves your skin feeling soft and not itchy or dry.

L'OREAL NUTRI-SLEEK HAIR OIL
I needed a new hair oil, because my old one was nearly empty and i left it at home. They had some kind of offer on this one, so i thought i should take it. After washing and drying my hair with a towel i put two pumps in my palms and massage it into the ends of my damp hair. It really smoothes and nourishes my ends and prevend them from looking to frizzy. And it doesn't make my hair look greasy at all.

November Favorites

In my life was recently so much excitment and new things going on, that November just flew by. I mean it's crazy...Christmas is in nearly a week and i am over a month now a Candiangirl. Crazy huh?
Although i am celebrating the no makeup makeup-look now a days, i have a few bits and pieces to show you.

Honeycomb Bronzer / The Body Shop
Nearly everyone in the Beauty World raved about this one, but i understand the excitment. It is a very light bronzer, perfect for lighter skins or for everyone who wants just a slight touch of colour like me. There are a few different shades available so you should be able to find the perfect shade for your skintone. I am using it costantly since i bought it a few month ago and there is nearly nothing gone, which is incredible.

Naturally Yours Palette / Zoeva
This palette has some really nice and unique autumnal bronzy shades. All neutrals of course. It has five matte and five shimmery shades in there and the pigmentation is just so nice. The cardboard package looks very pretty and i just fell in love with the palette right away. Zoeva has become one of my favorite brands. Did i mentioned their brushes yet? No, we will go there in a minute.

Maybelline Colour Elixir / 725 Caramel Infused
Oh my gosh. Amazing. That's the only aprobiate word for this lipstick/lipstain/lipgloss. The consistency is so creamy and light and just nice on the lips. Like you have put on a lipbalm. The colour range is incredible, they have nearly any colour you could think of from orange over pink and red to nice neutral shades. The pigmentation especially of the bright coloured ones is so good that you wouldn't think it is a lipgloss. Amazing.

Tangle Teezer / ebelin Entwirrkünstler
She folks of you who live in Germany can get excited about this one. We (counting myself to the Germans now) have a pretty amazing Dupe for the Tangle Teezer at the drugstore. It is (attention, german words are coming) the "Entwirrkünstler" von ebelin. Yes, it does look like a little insect, but it does a great job at detangeling and smoothing your hair and it is also great for brushing wet hair. If you are not living in Germany you can just pick up the Original, the Tangle Teezer, and have the same amazing results.

Miracle Skin Perfector / Garnier
Ok, guys. Hands down. This is the best product i tried in a long time. I spotted it at amelia's blog (if you don't know her, go check her out) and just went out to buy it immediatly. This Cream makes such a big difference, it transformes my dull and tired looking skin into a nice, fresh, awake and glowing goddess of skin. It is good skin in a bottle. I posted a review, if you want to see the incredible difference it makes.

Makeup Brushes / Zoeva
Another thing from Zoeva. I told you that we will go here.Zoeva brushes are high quality with very human prices. Zoeva is a german brand, who is known for their great brushes and they are great. These brushes are longlasting, so you don't have to worry about them falling apart or loosing hair after washing them a few times. The hairs are so soft and they don't suck up the product and they have nearly every brush shape you could wish for. If you want to know more about the brushes, go check my review out.

2000 Calorie Mascara / Max Factor
Full and voluminous, but not over the top lashes, hello.  Do i have to say more? No? Ok.

Washi Taped Laptop
I found this idea on Pinterest (see inspiration here) and finally found a usefull purpose for the tons of washitapes i own. I really like the design i taped on my laptop. The only thing i don't like is that the ends of the washitape stripes tend to loosen up and make the whole thing look ugly and disgusting. What i did to prevent this, was taking some clear tape and putting it over the edges. So far i am in. love. Another awesome thing about this method is, when you are bored of your design you can just take it off and create a new one.

Canada
I am now for over a month in Canada and there are nine more to come. So i am excited. Everything is new and unknown and just so nice. And yes, i am freezing all. the. time. Canada's winters are cold, really cold. At least i am sure, that there will be white christmas (yey!). I will keep you uptaded how Canada is working for me.
